Towpath Talks - February 20th 2026
Date: 20th February 2026
Time: Doors open 18:30 for 19:00 talk
Ticket price: £12
February’s Towpath Talks! Join us on Friday February 20th to hear from two exciting guests: Claire Wyatt, an around-the-world cycle adventurer, and Liam Trouabal, a transcontinental cycle tourer.
Claire is a passionate bicycle tourer who has spent the last five years slowly cycling 57,000km around the world. Her adventures were filled with acts of kindness, lots of snow and incredible scenery along the way. Her most recent trip saw her cycle from Mongolia to London fulfilling a long-term dream to follow the steps of the likes of Dervla Murphy on the Silk Road. Other trips include a 17,000km ride around Australia and countless kilometres in Southeast Asia and Central America. Claire wants to share her positive experience of solo cycling as a female and get more women out there travelling by bike!

In 2025 with zero touring experience but a craving for adventure, Dublin native Liam Trouabal swapped the café counter for the open road after graduating to embark on a solo cycling tour. Pedalling from Dublin to Istanbul, he sought the ultimate sense of freedom that only a bicycle can provide. In this talk, Liam shares the exhilarating highs and gruelling lows of his transcontinental journey — from the soaring peaks of the Alps to the coastlines of Turkey — all while fundraising for Jigsaw youth mental health. Join Liam to discover how "Frank the Tank," a heavy mountain bike never meant for the mountains, became the unlikely engine for a mission to spread happiness home and away.

The event will be hosted by Scotland’s most enthusiastic commuter Izabela Murtagh with the help of MacKenzie Barker.
Come and join us for an evening featuring the incredible life stories of our guests.
