Towpath Talks - 27th March 2026

£12.00

Date: 27th March 2026

Time: Doors open 18:30 for 19:00 talk

Ticket price: £12

Join us for the final talk of this Towpath Talks series on Friday March 27th. We will hear from two terrific guests: Anna Ruddiman, who last year quit her job and cycled across the continent, and Peter Gostelow, who has spent the last 20 years cycling around the world.

Anna Ruddiman is an adventure lover, sustainability professional, and avid cycle tourer. A demanding corporate role in London and lack of work-life balance left her seeking meaning and adventure. She left her job and, with her girlfriend Fran, they cycled self-supported from the UK to Turkey on a pair of second-hand Surly’s. Across their journey they were met with unending kindness, many a mountain pass, some pretty precarious infrastructure, and a few too many heatwaves. Across their 5,000km route, Anna was able to count on two hands the number of female bike tourers they met. Now back in London, she is determined to contribute to making cycling more accessible and less intimidating for women.

Peter Gostelow is a long-term bike traveller from Dorset. His two-wheeled adventures have covered 175,000km in over 95 countries. In “Lessons from a Long-Term Bike Traveller: 20 Years of Cycling Around the World,” Peter's talk will share some stories and insights gained from his time in the saddle.

The event will be hosted by Scotland’s most enthusiastic commuter Izabela Murtagh with the help of MacKenzie Barker.

Come and join us for an evening featuring the incredible life stories of our guests.
