Towpath Talks are returning for the third season! We are going to kick off the talks on Friday October 30th with two amazing guests: the only finisher of London-Edinburgh-London 2025 Ian McBride and a musician touring on her bike Sarah Small.
Ian McBride is a New Zealander living in Surrey who in an unexpected way became the only finisher of the London-Edinburgh-London 2025 event during its official date. In his talk we will share snippets from his unsuspected past and his tips and tricks to be a fast audax rider.

Sarah Small is an amazing viola da gamba player. In summer 2025 she set off on a music tour all around Britain on her bike. She covered 4,500km, reached Southampton, the Outer Hebrides, Shetland and everything in between. She gave 31 performances in all sorts of venues. Travelling by bike gave her an opportunity to play in smaller places where performers usually don’t venture. In her talk she will share her motivation for such tour and her experiences.

As before the event will be hosted by Scotland’s most enthusiastic commuter Izabela Murtagh with the help of MacKenzie Barker.
